Job Context

The position is responsible for the development and execution of the multi-year sourcing plan for that category and deliver the targeted business results. 

The ability to work independently, communicate and interact effectively and sensitively with key stakeholders and decision makers (internal and external) in a multi-cultural environment is essential.

The scope for Radio Access Network (RAN) Category includes but not limited to sourcing of 2G/3G/4G/5G RAN network equipment and services, Open RAN, Passive Infrastructure (Antenna, Battery, power unit) etc.  

The role is responsible for the development and execution of the multi-year sourcing plan that delivers the targeted business results. Success involves a deep understanding of the global commercial and technical of Radio category environment, the associated supply markets and demand characteristics, Strategic Sourcing models, contract requirements and negotiation skills. 

However, Category Managers to be more flexible and ready to work cross categories Network/IT/Infra basis the business demand and organizational priorities. 

 

Scope & Authority

•    Develop and execute the multi-year Strategic Sourcing Plan for Radio Category which leverages the Group’s purchasing power to significantly reduce total costs. 
•    Lead the end-to-end category strategy development of Radio Category from start until project closure.
•    Translate strategy developed into objectives and priorities for Radio Category
•    Established clear, measurable goals and objectives for Radio Category & critically access the demand specifications from key stakeholders.
•    Drive and monitor key performance metrics, ensuring alignment with and adherence to category strategy. 
•    Leads all related Radio Category strategic sourcing process, negotiations and activity ensuring key stakeholders are aligned with the resulting supplier selection. 
•    Develop detailed financial and business justifications for all sourcing decisions
•    Negotiate and manage category contracts effectively, using data-driven logic to ensure they deliver value and meet business needs
•    Manage strategic supplier relationships to ensure they deliver continuous value, innovation, while also understanding and mitigating risk to the Group
•    Maintain productive working relationships with internal stakeholders
•    Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives within the Strategic Sourcing group and across Procurement function

 

Key Results Area

•    Timely completion of identified key group & OpCo sourcing initiatives based on project objectives and milestones agreed with businesses.
•    Contributing to group strategic sourcing annual savings target 
•    Able to identify new areas for creating value for Group and able to drive it independently with collaboration from stakeholders
•    Working closely with Opcos and ensure adherence to process compliance and regulation while providing stakeholders with timely update for accurate decision-making
 

Job Requirements:

•    Must posses Bachelor’s Engineering degree or equivalent
•    Demonstrable category expertise
•    Experience in leading the development and successful execution of a category level sourcing plan including the management of multiple supplier contracts and 

     relationships.
•    Good understanding of Telecom technologies in both Network/IT i.e. Core Network, Cloud Native, Open stack, virtualization, cloud infra etc would be an added

     advantage.

•    A broad understanding of the telecom industry combined with a solid understanding of Radio Network. 
•    Good project management, with strong oral and written communication and ability to adapt to change.
•    Process design and improvement
•    Knowledge on sourcing strategy formulation and implementation techniques, with good negotiating skills and fact-based negotiation
•    Strong knowledge of data analysis, financial modelling & the understanding of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) principles.
